Renovate Your House GREEN!

A drop-per-second from a leaky faucet can waste up to 10 gallons of water a week.

Everybody likes a renovated house. And whether the renovations you’re making are major or minor, it’s easy to make sure that any changes to your home can be GREEN changes, designed to cut energy consumption and conserve.

These simple changes are great ways to help the environment, and if the idea of doing right by the planet isn’t enough for you, well they should help you save on utility costs as well.

Install low-flow faucets: Using a low-flow faucet can reduce water consumption, as well as the cost of heating water, by almost 50%
Reverse your Ceiling Fan Blades in the Winter: By shifting the position of your blades, warm air can be pushed down, helping keep your rooms warm in the colder months.

Choose Biodegradable products: Always consider the lifecycle of anything you plan to add to your home. Are the materials your using reusable? Are they recyclable? Or will they wastefully take up space long after they’ve worn out and are no longer needed?

Repair Leaky Fixtures: Sure, it doesn’t seem like much. But a drop-per-second from that leaky faucet can collect as much as 10 gallons of water every week.

And Remember! Recycle Packing and Shipping Materials: All that new stuff in your renovated house had to have come from somewhere. Make sure you safely dispose and recycle all boxes, containers, and cans you use when making these progressive changes to your home.
