Distressed Homes, Renovated Homes and Short Sale Help…

Deals on Renovated Homes

I just moved into an up and coming neighborhood. I thought to myself, my, if I only had the capital to buy some distressed homes here, fix them up, and rent them out, I would have a gold mine on my hands. Every day younger, hipper people move into the area, bringing with them trendy restaurants, shops and cafes. It’s a bohemian paradise.

Distressed homes do require work, but once the investment is made it’s a relatively easy return on your money. And if you’re buying, usually the renovated homes are at lower prices than the homes that are brand new, even though the old ones may be just as attractive, gutted and remodeled.

Distressed homes are good then for both the buyer and the seller. They are easy to remodel (if you have the capital) and sell for the owner, and are less expensive than new properties for the buyer.  Renovated homes are a lot like buying houses from thrift shops – if you look hard enough, you can find great deals, at a much lower price than you’d expect to pay.

So what are you waiting for? Get out there and start hunting for renovated homes! Chances are you’ll find a great deal.
